RUGMAKING IN CRAFT MAGAZINES
Thes cuttings are from more recent magazines aimed at crafters rather than people familiar with rugmaking. One shows how to use a mixture of rugmaking techniques and materials to create a soft sculpture wall-hanging. A later issue of the same magazine uses locker hooking, tufting and tapestry to create a textured rug of a fluffy cat. Both of these used a mixture of fabric strips and wool.
The third showed how to mark up plain canvas with a 10 cm grid and floral design using a dressmaker's marker pen. The design could be scaled up from an image in the magazine.
