BLUE EYED PERSIANS (SEYMOUR DBEALT GENE)

Another breeder working with the blue-eye gene is Chloe Alaska (Bordeaux, France) who has Nikita'l Gioia, a descendent of Seymour, from Ukraine (bred by Iryna Merzlenko). Mated to Ylang Ylang, Chloe's black Persian stud, Gioia's first litter comprised 7 kittens, but a black silver tabby female with a node on her tail was stillborn. The other 6 were perfectly healthy and included a blue-eyed kitten and 2 odd-eyed kittens. 2 kittens in the litter had a tiny defect on the last vertebra of the tail, but Chloe had previously seen this in unrelated non-blue-eyed) cats. The blue-eyed cats, included Gioia, have had hearing tests and have perfect hearing. Niagara has a tiny white spot under his nose (right side).

DBE PERSIAN / EXOTIC LONGHAIR (MARUSJA GENE)

Tsvetelina Ivanova- Neycheva (Neobea Shadow Cattery) founded her breeding programme in 2022 in the USA. She introduced DBE into her Persian breed using a DBE Exotic Shorthair from Cyrridwen cattery, Russia. In 2023, the first blue-eyed DBE kitten (Matryoshka) was born. She is an Exotic Longhair (EXO variant). All kittens are healthy, without any abnormalities and with normal hearing. Matryoshka is an F4 DBE and the first blue-eyed Exotic Longhair born in America.
