ALBINO WALLABIES

The above photo of the albino wallaby at Paulton's Park, England was taken by Ian Vincent |
This photo and those below are of 3 different albino Bennett's Wallabies at Tropical Wings, South Woodham Ferrers (near Chelmsford), Essex. There are several albino wallabies living with their normal colour relatives. This indicates a high degree of inbreeding which has caused a hidden albino gene to show up. Inbreeding can also cause health issues. Albino wallabies are at risk of sunburn and may have poor eyesight due to the way albinism affects the sturcture of the eye. |
